hi,

now that i actually have an online vendor looking for two shapes of stones, i''m perusing settings.

problem is (or is it) i don''t see any settings that i like at the online vendor''s site.

i do, however, see several that i love, at another online vendor''s site.

sigh.

it seems i just keep complicating my process. true dat?

how would you handle this?

buy the setting you like and have it shipped to the place where the diamond is and have them set it.

Ditto. People do it all the time.

Yeah, it''s really not an issue. I would also check with the vendor you are working with to make sure they can''t get it. Many vendors can get other lines even if they don''t advertise them.

If you're buying a designer setting, I'd have the vendor you are purchasing the setting from ship the stone for the designer to set. we've have many stories here where local setters have set stones and messed up the settings.
