Hi,

First off, Awesome forum! and being new here I hope I posted this on the right section. I have some experience with gold and watches, but i am relatively new to the beautiful world of diamonds. There is two rings that i am interested in and I have tried the diamond price calculators online which gave me an idea but I need advice and opinion of those with knowledge on diamonds (preferably more than one opinion).

The first ring has a 1.21 Ct. VVS2 H 6.66 x 6.62 x 4.26 mm Cut grade: very good The diamond is set on a Tiffany & Company, The inside of the ring is marked "TIFFANY & CO., IRID. PLAT" The ring itself weighs 4.7 grams. It comes with a certificate from EGL International. The diamond does have a yellow tint that I noticed in light.

The second ring is marked Tiffany & Co., 2001, 750, France. The ring features 1.28 carat of round brilliant cut sparkling white diamonds with F-G color and VS clarity and 2.00 carat of round brilliant cut blue sapphires. Total weight 9.1 grams. This ring does not have a certificate.

On some of the research I did I notice not a lot of good things were said about "EGL" and the second ring does not have a certificate, Taking in consideration the facts above, what would be the the price range of each ring, And assuming the grades, clarity etc. are off by 2 even 3 what would be the price range (being off by 2 or even 3).

I will try to post pictures of the rings in this post and any Advice, opinions, or help will be much appreciated.

Do either rings come with the Tiffany paperwork? I am not a Tiffany expert, but neither look authentic to me. Tiffany does not use EGL to grade their diamonds. There was a time when then used GIA, but most stones come with the TiffNy grading or at least an appraisal to verify authenticity.

Are you looking to buy these off of ebay by any chance? If you type in "Tiffany verification" or "Verify Tiffany ring is authentic" or some combination of those (you know what I'm getting at) in the search bar you will find many threads on this. Be careful. People have reported that diamonds have been removed and been replaced by lesser quality stones. And like Travelgal mentioned they do not use EGL to grade their stones. They have their own in-house gemologists.

Their very famous and classic 6 prong solitaire doesn't have a cathedral shank like the photo you posted, so not sure if that's some other design I've never seen or what. You can see their 6 prong on their website.

I think only an appraiser could tell you how much these rings are worth (with verification that they are in fact authentic Tiffany rings), but maybe another PS'er could give you a very rough range/estimate.

Neither comes with Tiffany paperwork, I knew there was something about them but couldn't pin point what was it. I'm going to pass on the rings. Many thanks!

Saw them in an auction, I'm passing on these, one red flag is too many, Thanks for the knowledge!
