Novice emerald question

The "only" stone I have left to buy is a emerald (but everyone knows I will buy more than that though :angel: ). I know very little about them. What are the vertical lines I see in this picture?

Most likely to be feathers (fracture inclusions).
 
Emeralds can have a variety of inclusions, including growth tubes.

It may also be color zoning, which can be entirely natural...
Even if entirely natural, you make want to ask yourself if you want a stone that is so obviously zoned.

Do you know anything about treatments of stone, if any?

It's treated with cedar oil.

Okay, I'll pass on this one. It was the right size and price. Darn. The search continues. Emeralds are confusing to me.
