the wedding is june 15. my father passed away when i was a kid, my mother is walking me down the aisle and i am not close with my stepfather. my FI and his mother have to dance together because if they don''t she''ll kill him, who am i supposed to dance with? can they have their dance and me not have one? what would i do while they are dancing? it''s something that''s come up recently since we have to put together our song list for the DJ....

has anyone else dealt with this situation before? would it be weird if i danced with my mom? i have always considered her both of my parents anyway...

I would dance with my mom.

It''s your wedding day, so you should do whatever makes you and your new husband happy. If you want to dance with your Mum, go ahead, I am sure she will be touched.

I was at a wedding where the bride danced with her mom, and everyone was teary-eyed by the end. It was very sweet.

My dad passed away when I was 12 years old. I was planning on dancing with my mom to Martina McBride "In my daughters eyes" the song makes me cry everytime I hear it...there wont be a dry seat in the house. You can do that if you are comfortable with it!

Ditto - I''d dance with mom if that''s what you want. I think your mom (and everyone else) would be very touched by the gesture.
