Hey all
I just thought I'd post up - I've been keeping an eye on things because at some point I'd like to get my good lady a pair of simple, small diamond studs, perhaps just some 0.25ct studs, but it seems like there is not many (any?) available in the various superideal cuts, or even the near-superideal cuts.
I missed out last year on what seemed to be some bargains because the US-based vendors would not take Credit Cards from the UK
and since then prices seem to have risen / 0.25s seem to have disappeared.
Is it simply the case that they would end up too expensive to cut to superideal proportions now, with all the associated extra work and costs that would need the prices to be bumped up to make it worthwhile to cut them, meaning they would be unlikely to sell and recoup the cutting costs?
I guess the reasons are pretty moot seeing as I'm not really in a position to buy anything at this precise moment in time, but the dearth of decent quarter carats means I can't even window shop!
Anyway, just my mind wandering on a quiet sunday afternoon...
