I looked up Norbert Wiener, the "father of cybernetics", one of the most brilliant minds of the 20-th century. Since I was posting my opinion about autism, his name came to my mind. I used to read stories about his quirks, and he came across as the guy on autistic spectrum.

But I think these quotes merit attention - he died in 1964, so most of these sayings date back to the 40-es and 50-es.

Norbert Wiener

Norbert Wiener

The nervous system and the automatic machine are fundamentally alike in that they are devices, which make decisions on the basis of decisions they made in the past.
Norbert Wiener

To live effectively is to live with adequate information.
Norbert Wiener

What most experimenters take for granted before they begin their experiments is infinitely more interesting than any results to which their experiments lead.
