Hello all,

First time poster and getting more confused by the minute.

When my BF and I looked for rings a few months ago I instantly loved this Etienne Perret low halo
http://www.etienneperret.com/colored-diamond-jewelry/platinum-low-halo-engagement-ring-mounting

We went to a local jewelry store listed on his site and they showed me other styles by Hearts On Fire and then I started to like a half bezel style.

Now that I think we are getting closer to purchase (finger''s crossed) I''m back to the halo or a full bezel with a thinner band. Forgive me if I''m not getting these terms right, I''m new to all jewelry, my e-ring would be my first real piece.

I''m very active and I do a lot of work with my hands so a low profile is key. If anyone has any pics, designer suggestions or owns these settings and would like to weigh in I would appreciate the feedback.

Oh, and the stone would be about 1ct unless we are given a family stone which would be in the 2.5ct range but that''s not definite.
Thanks for the help!

Sorry, round brilliant cut as well

Knox Jewelers has some of my favorite bezel styles:
Desiree
Delicado
Ripple - not quite full bezel, but pretty

I''d be surprised if these couldn''t be modified to fit 1ct. Hope that helps!

Well, I was going to attempt to be helpful, but I am having operator errors.... :)

An algebra professor from my first year of college had the most exquisite engagement ring I''ve ever seen. Have no idea who was the designer, but if I describe it someone here might know. The band was in buttery yellow gold, and the round diamond was set in a platinum half-bezel. There was no basket or head, the band on top was the same width as the diamond (which was simply integrated into the band) and tapered down slightly as it went to the bottom of the ring. I wish I could describe it better or knew someone on here who had a ring like it.

I also currently have an obsesssion with non pave bezel and half bezel mountings. I have a .32 princess cut i am mounting in one for a right hand ring. This is my favorite for a round brilliant.
