Press conference with Merkel. At least he's consistent in exposing his idiocy.

Refuses to shake Merkel's hand. Putz, gnat-brained pouty-faced sub-human

The meeting with Merkel was humiliating to watch. She is a strong woman, meaning he automatically can't be around her without having a toddler tantrum. Ugh, he is going to start a war with his idiocy.

But the st. patrick's day thing was AMAZING. Loved watching that.

Hi,

I am wondering what it will really take to impeach this nutcase. I'm going to write to Sen Linsay Graham to voice my concern. He seems like a decent fellow who cares about the US;

I have wanted for some time to post my concern about Ivanka Trump. I think she is being groomed to be the First female President. She goes everywhere with Daddy. The school meeting with kids; she was there with one of her children. No joke she is everywhere he goes. Meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister, the German Chancelor, Japanese Leader, and I think going to a play with the Canadian Prime Minister as well takes up her time. What do you think is going on? Dynasty in the making?

I don't want to make a new thread on it, just hear your comments.

i loved your links and your comments, Matata. My take on Trump's refusal to shake Angela Merkel's hand was different from many of the crude, woman hating (i.e. misogynistic) posters, though. So many of them wrote that no one would want to shake her hand, that she was ruining Germany, that she too dominant, etcetera. I positively revel in her. She is now running Europe, and for the better. And she scares Donald Trump. We need 1,000 more women like her in positions of power here in the United States! I would like to have a T-shirt made up with a picture of Angela Merkel in a pink pussy hat and the slogan "Angela Merkel is My Home Girl" on the front!

Can anyone here do a mock-up of that?

The more I learn about her, the more I like her. I enjoy this picture making its way around the internet. 17309805_1635205003157906_279104951414927839_n.jpg

Of course she is being groomed to be the first female president. I can't understand why no one objects to her being at every function Trump attends. I feel like it's an everyday "Bring your daughter to work" event. It's Crazy. If a democrat did this the Republicans would be swinging from the rafters screaming get her out if there.

I see her as a Valerie Jarrett type.

I have been glued to the hearings about Russian interference in the elections all morning. Anyone else?

No I am playing on PS lol.

I've been reading the play by plays of it.

Same here. Refreshing online news sources and watching clips since we don't have cable here.

I saw footage of Trump shaking Merkel's hand when she arrived at the White House and again after their joint press conference. Not sure why he didn't do it for the sit down photo-op except maybe he didn't hear.

Other than that, yeah, he's definitely a disaster when it comes to foreign policy and relations.

To me it looked as if he had just endured a particularly nasty session with her; the expression on his face was one of utter disgust. At least that is what I recall. I will have to go back and look again!

I just went back and watched the film clip again. Trump definitely looks like an angry school boy who has just been chastised by his teacher and will not get over it. Angela Merkel looks like a benign and understanding teacher who has been very reasonable with the little boy, who obviously just cannot accept any boundaries or instruction at all, but is having a temper tantrum. The calls of "Handshake! Handshake!" are loud and numerous. Trump cannot have missed them given the volume of his voice when he speaks and the volume of other voices in the room. He is just being an incredibly arrogant, ungentlemanly, and rude host. To see him do that in The White House is shameful and appalling.

Yup, I got the same impression. And I agree there's almost no way he didnt hear the numerous calls for a handshake. I also thought at some point she asked, "should we shake hands" or something similar and he ignored her too. What an idiot.

Trump holds a woman's hand, and he is called on it. He does not hold a woman's hand, and he is called on it.

I mean really, this is getting absurd as to what is being focused on. More important issue to deal with besides this nonsense.

I have nothing to say about Trump taking the Prime Minister's hand, ruby. It has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted. What Trump did to Chancellor Merkel was rude, crude, and piggish. Refusing to shake her hand was a black and white decision. There was no gray area. Therefore: it is untrue that he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. The man is a pig.

Deb, I find your lack of respect for office of the President very rude and crude.

You have no clue what was in the President's heart.

Your open disdain for this President makes it very difficult for me to have a conversation with you.
As much as I did not care for Obama, I did not stoop to the level some of you are doing with this President.

No wonder I come here less and less lately.

I don't see Deb as showing any lack of respect for the office of the President. She is expressing her opinion on Pvss Grab as a person. Another example: I have no lack of respect for the office of the chancellor of Germany but I certainly have a lack of respect for Hitler, one who held that office.

I imagine my disdain for Chump makes it difficult for you to have a conversation with me too, and I acknowledge and respect that.

Deb doesn't disrespect the office of POTUS, she disrespects the person who currently holds that position. Just because the person currently in office deserves no respect doesn't mean the position can't be respected.

ETA: I shouldn't speak for Deb. What I mean to say is, "I don't read her comments as being disrespectful of the office of POTUS, just for the idiot who currently (undeservingly) holds that position".

Respect is earned. It's not gained simply by obtaining a position.

Well said, MP. I have never agreed with the idea that someone AUTOMATICALLY gets respect based on a position alone. Respect is earned. Granted, I will always start by respecting someone until they don't deserve it, but someone who doesn't deserve respect won't automatically get it from me based on their title.

DeeJay, with all due respect reading about Trump and Hitler in the same Post is very disconcerting, as I do not know how any rational person can even compare the two. Several of my family members were killed in the gas chambers and in the concentration camps, so this sickens me.

I also do not have much tolerance for potty mouths and playground antics.

I want to discuss the more important topics in an adult manner.

Respect comes from within and not lowering yourself. It is to treat all people as you want to be treated.
