I thought I glimpsed a post from Ella here but didn't actually read it.
But if it was here, it's gone now.

Is JOTW gone, or not?

If so, perhaps Jewel of the Month would make more sense.
It would be one fourth the work for the mods, yet have 4 times as many candidates as JOTW.
It could be argued that JOTM would be four times as special as JOTW was.

i wish there were updates in the sticky threads of show me the___ like in the really old posts of SMTB where someone updated all the new jewels in one thread and it was just photo after photo without comments.Show me your latest is kind of like that but not really.

A dumb 19yr old boy asked an even dumber 18yr girl to marry him back in 1992. He proposed with a simple .45 cathedral round solitaire. Over the next 30 happy years he's presented me with numerous upgrades or additions that suited out situation at that moment. Well last month we started to design my current dream ring to celebrate our 30 years together. Since I am from a very small town I really don't feel comfortable posting this on FB but I want to share my joy. PS seemed perfect. So for my first post here is up lovely bauble!

This is simply speculation but whomever was writing those had to have (should have been, at least) getting paid. It’s possible PS is tightening its purse strings and didn’t find that the blog posts were driving enough traffic to the site to justify paying for them.

I write for websites, and oftentimes they want blog posts. Those are SEO-friendly and help keep a site up in the search ranks. But I charge a somewhat hefty hourly fee and I imagine other writers (those of us who don’t use AI) do as well. Again, just speculation.

It might just be my imagination but sometimes it seemed like instead of posting more, people posted less until they felt they had something jotw-worthy. Looking back at the archives, a lot of the current your-latest-purchase posts we see in recent years would have had their own threads in prior years.

Today’s conspiracy theory is that Nikki Minaj bought Price Scope and when people post more pink jewels, we will see JOTW rise again.
