I am looking to buy a stone from an estate jeweler on ebay. The GIA cert is provided but it does not give the crown or pavillion angles. What can I gather from the info that is provided? They told me that the diamond looks nice, a good to very good cut.

The only cut info you have is the comment that it’s ‘good to very good’, presumably from someone who has actually seen the stone. How reliable a source do you consider them for cut grading? Are you willing to bet on the accuracy of their grading skills and reporting?

You would need a Sarin Report which would give you that info, but this jeweller may not have access to the equipment to do it. Depending on the cost of this diamond, have you looked online to see what else is available? I would proceed cautiously to try to make sure of what you are buying.

that it might actually be graded by gia but even that would need to be verified.
