Niwaka inspired

If anyone has any sort of information I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Does anyone know how much a Niwaka inspired custom setting in 18K white gold from WF might cost? I emailed WF directly but they said if I wasn''t immediately in the market for a new ring they couldn''t give me a quote as it expires in 5 days. I''ve also looked in other post but found no estimates.

I''m thinking of the Zelkova ring in particular.

I love the Niwaka style too. Do you have a pic of the ring you are interested in? That might make it easier to have a guess how much a custom like it would be.

Niwaka has several beautiful designs, so it is difficult for me to know to which you are envisioning.

I am not quite sure if it is OK to share pricing, but I asked WF about pricing regarding a custom setting resembling a Niwaka design. The representative shared with me a price of a current ring, which was $1280, done in platinum, and holding a .95ct round diamond. This information was given to me at the end of June, so please take that into consideration.
I have attached the actual ring that WF supplied pricing on. Please note, they did not give me an official price quote & also note that they never said that this design was inspired by Niwaka. No there doesn''t have to be a surprise diamond. I just love the elegant subtle swirls. Niwaka rings look very ''organic'' you know? Very fluid and decorative without being like filigree. Hmm..

I agree with you about how elegant and organic the Niwaka rings are. I just don''t know of any custom designer whose style particularly matches that of the Niwaka rings.

I''m sure lots could make something in that style,... I just wouldn''t want to be disappointed as it is such a particular look.

As the designs aren''t bulky I would guess that the estimate omieluv had would be ballpark.

The WF setting I posted is a half bezel, which has more metal than the Niwaka setting you are interested in. This being said, you may want to contact WF and send them a picture of what you like to find out whether they will be able to design something to your liking. Good luck!

Well it''s not so much a bypass bezel design I''m in love with. It''s the unique curves the metal takes around the finger. Actually, when the time comes, I think I''ll just go to WF for a custom setting. I just hope it''s not too much to ask for. I''ve never seen a setting like this anywhere but Niwaka.

Hmm.. Partly because of the metal. I''ve always had my heart set on white gold for it''s warm luster. I don''t wear my jewelry hard so I''m no concerned about durability. Platinum is not only more expensive but I find I don''t bond well with it''s greyish hue.

Also, I have some ideas for customizing the ring! Make it unique to me and my guy.

Also depending where you live, if you are in the States, Niwaka in NY has been closed for some time and keeps moving out their re-opening date.

Plus they are REAL expensive!

WF has done many, many amazing custom rings (and I own one which I am in love with). Having said that, I would get the original on that one. I don't know how well it could be duplicated and with some settings, it is just better to go with the original, rather than re-create it. With a ring this delicate and unique, I definetely think this is the case. Have you contacted Niwaka to see if they can do it in WG?

Yeah Niwaka''s high prices did have a lot to do with my want for a custom one some place else. Plus, my guy really wanted a particular cut for the center stone that wasn''t a RB. Niwaka also has a $1500 penalty fee for bringing in your own stone (ouch!). I''d hate to see what they''d do to me if I asked for adjustments.

Well.. has no one ever seen WF do anything similar to this? Maybe I could be the first

Or worst case scenario it turns out horrible

and I end up getting a stock ring but waste time and money trying. Sigh!

I do not think it would hurt reaching out to WF to find out what they can come up with. You will be able to view CAD images of the ring prior to production, so you have little to lose. Just open the lines of communication, they are very nice!
