Ran accross this site while trying to find pricing on a certain Tacori setting!

Nice selection of different designers...

Thanks Tawn. I too have been looking at settings.

After searching at 30 or so websites, I still think McGivern Diamonds has the best selection. They have 85 pages of settings with nice color pictures. I don't know anything else about them.

Their website is www.overnightdiamonds.com

Good luck - I'm still hunting for mine.

This is another that has a large selection, but I don't know how nice they are in real life!

Bill Barnes is nice as well...

You may find it interesting that many settings from www.overnightdiamonds.com
are listed by Stuller (the same pictures, after all). Decent prices though... really 'overnight'.

It might be interesting to note that the manufacturing cost per setting in a Romanian factory (not sure their stuff ends up at Stuller and Overnightdiamonds, but it surely looks close) is about $4 over the cost of metal. It's a nice opperation which used to make electronics and micro mechanical parts for military applications a decade back. No it's watchmaking an jewelry.

HI - I just ordered a setting from McGivern - I am online now becuase I am waiting for FedEx to bring me the ring! I sent my stone to them and they charged $25.00 to set it - pretty good. I liked the sight immediately becuase the prices were great! So far, they have been helpful, speedy, and friendly. I like the large selection of settings and found a lot of basic styles for much less - even their platinum prices are good.

Also, in the FAQS section of this forum, there is a thread on compiled settings. Lots to look at!

I was also checking out http://www.foreverjewelers.com

These are some of my favorities (don't know about their quality but give you great ideas):

Do people agree that finding a setting is sooo much harder than finding a diamond?

It's so hard...and I think my tastes have changed quite a bit from the beginning of my search as well!

I've been waiting for 10 long years, so it has to be "right"! My husband doesn't get the whole jewelry thing!! It doesn't even bother him that I don't wear a ring from him! (I currently wear my mom's diamond that's reset into an antique replica setting! And, an antique engraved plat band that I found years ago, that has an inscription inside of a wedding date of 11/29/1942)

ABBEYLD -

BTW - on McGivern - (no, I do not work for them and I am not trying to oush anyone) I ddi recieve my ring yesterday and it looks great! THe setting was hald the price of other hald bezels I have seen, it is heavy and substantial, like a 5mm band should be - everything looks great - was quick - and Mr. McGivern helped me himself - Just wanted to follow-up on the transcation. As good as it sounded.

TAWN - My testimony won't completely help you know what it is like in real life - but I can tell you I am very particular!I am amazed that I was pleased - it even surpassed my expectation.

YES Maristodou - I agree with you! It does seem harder to find a setting! I paticularly like dimendscaasi and sndgems but they're a bit pricey. All the settings I like turn out to be designer and too expensive. Good Luck!

Can't wait to see your pictures!
