Next Steps Please!

Question - Once you select a diamond that you want to purchase from one of Pricescope''s recommended vendors, what is the next step? Should you get the diamond appraised by someone else before you buy it? What else should I do except pay?

Also - Can anyone tell me their thoughts about an SI1 diamond? The one I''m considering has clouds and one indented natural. The IN is in the girdle and the clouds are on the outside of the stone. It is eye-clean. It looks great, but I worry about the SI1. Thanks!

What vendor? If it''s one of the big ones that is really PS recommended (as opposed to ones that just advertise here that aren''t necessarily recommended), there is probably no need to get it appraised unless you want to for your own peace of mind.

As for the Si1 issue, what does the vendor say?

I bought my stone online and use the appraisal that came with my stone. I also used one of the PS appraisers (Neil Beaty); so for peace of mind an appraiser is great!!! I would talk to the vender in regards to the SI.

Ditto? If you haven''t already done so, check with the vendor concerning this.

If you''ve seen it and its eye-clean and looks great to you, then there''s nothing to worry about! Just enjoy it, and congrats on finding your ring!

The vendor says it is fine. Eye clean and no-problem.

I have seen the stone and it is lovely. The clouds are places at the edges of the stone. I couldn''t even see them when I looked under a loop.

With clouds, what am I looking for and what could negatively impact the stone?
