So I am deciding on my next piece and want to hear what yall think.

I am trying to decide between a new wedding band and a dbty necklace. The price is similar for both. I have a lot of very nice stack bands but my Dahlia deserves a dedicated stand alone band. I also have learned that I am not happy unless it's a full eternity. It never fails that the sizing bar is what I see, lol. WF has a platinum 2.7mm bead set Tiffany style ring that they will make in an eternity band. I think this would be great as a stand alone wedding band. I know I wouldn't wear it by itself with my ering if I got the 2mm as it wouldn't be wide enough for my man hands!

My other choice is a 16" dbty necklace with 15 pointers. I think I would wear this a lot, probably almost daily, maybe more than the eternity band because I like stacking at this time.

I usually make up my mind quickly on jewelry. I have made some mistakes but am happy for the most part with it all. I am not sure why I can't decide on this. Maybe because I can only get one right now, lol!

Would you not consider having a plain band engraved by DK to make it interesting but not overpowering with your BEAUTIFUL new ring, and having the DBTY necklace as well?

Have you tried on a dbty necklace? I thought I wanted a bracelet version until I tried one on and found that it was too dainty for me. I understand what you mean about a 2mm not being wide enough to wear alone, my question is: Would you ever actually wear it alone? I have a thin eternity that looks ridiculous on my size 7.5-8 fingers when worn alone, but I never wear it on its own. :)

I have several plain bands, a few engraved. I don't think I am happy with that look. I even have a sophia in platinum by cvb and it seems too plain. Maybe if it were a wider band?

I know I wouldn't wear it alone. I am wondering if I would even wear it as a single band with my ering. I usually wear 2 or 3 stackers now and I like the look but sometimes I think it takes away from dahlia. Lol, can't believe I feel like she's a person or something! !! It's good to have a perspective from someone with larger hands!

I do think a dbty would be great. It's not too dainty. My neck is quite small and 15 pointers look great.

Thanks yall! Glad to have blingers to help me think it out!

Probably because I am of the 'one ring to rule them all' camp, I would opt to get the wedding band situation figured out first - particularly because of your new ring. The DBTY is an option that you can do at any time but I think I would want the wedding set figured out first. Just my .02!

Ohhh get a fake dbty to trial run.

I have a DBTY with 8 pointers that I wear as a pendant chain. I wear it almost ever day. Mine was made by BGD. I love it. I love my eternities too but I love the prong set look that I wear a spacer with. I want to see just diamonds.

I just looked and found the 2.7mm WF band. I think that band would be good if you wanted to wear one band with your ring. You'd have milgrain added?

I happen to have a picture with an earlier e-ring I had with the wider Legacy band. I think it would work better with your e-ring because the diamond is large and the wedding band won't overpower it.

I love DBTY necklaces, too. I have some from WF. I think it's just a matter of which you want first. My tendency is to think like MGR, though, and get the wedding set perfect.

Are there full cut stones in your Dahlia shoulders?

My vote is for DBTY.

I just got a dby. It's platinum with 10 @ .10 each, 17.5 inches long. I'm surprised by how much I like it. The stones are small enough that the cutlets don't bother me (which was my concern). Very happy.

I second this. I would personally want the rings figured out "just right" first then go from there.

Thanks for the pic! I am going to wf this week to try on bands. Like I said I am usually very decisive so I may even wait a while. I will let you know how it goes.

Yes, I would have milgrain added to the wf band.

I would go with the dbty first, specifically because you aren't sure about the ering/band situation. Maybe letting some more time pass will give you some clarity about the ring options.

If you’re totally set on the Tiffany-esque eternity, then that is my vote. If you’re not sure, then go for the dbty and really take your time deciding on the perfect wedding band. I’ll follow your story with great intrigue. I’m looking at dbty necklaces for later this year!

Hi @ceg this is a tough decision and I see the pros and cons of each. I am in the camp of one ring (set) to rule them all so will echo those who have said find the perfect band first. And there are many DBTYs you can choose from or commission to have made custom for you so that is not really something that is unique or challenging generally to do/find. And keep in mind DBTYs do flip and make sure you are comfortable with feeling the culets on your neck. Have you worn any DBTYs to get an idea of how it feels?

So after all that I am voting for the band. If you can find one that makes your heart sing.

I would always choose a new ring over any other jewelry. I strongly dislike the way DBTYs flip and poke at the skin. Definitely do a fake first before you decide.

My vote is that we all buy that set @diamondseeker2006 is wearing in her photo! Hubba hubba!

No help, I realize, but - wow!

And I do think the Tiffany Legacy diamond eternity would look perfect with your new Dahlia, tho I'd go with the thinner one. If you wanted the wider one, tho, I think your Dahlia could carry it. Either way, it'd be a great choice.

(And now back to ogling DS's photo!)

Update - I went to wf and tried on a few rings. Yall were right about the thinner one; it looked the best. But I am still not absolutely sure that's what I want. I have another idea for a band but it may take a while since it would be custom. I'm in no hurry and taking my time on this one. I did get a dbty, 16" yellow gold with 7 - 15 pointers in white gold bezels. I tried one on and think the comfort will be just fine! Here's a pic of the thinner band with my ering (on my pinky with a huge fire ant bite! )Divisi Width-1.jpg

Oh man, that combo is gorgeous! You are one lucky woman, @ceg!
