I'd make sure it's 100% eye clean and ask for an idealscope. It's also pretty hard to compare the stone you're considering because we also don't know what the cut looks like. I know you put "H&A"...but no details were provided.
I guess you're paying a premium for the H&A in this case. I remember BGD had an L SI1 in their inventory back in Dec that was a 2 ct L for about $12K. It was not H&A but it was from their BGD Blue line which is cut to almost the same standards (just no guarantee of perfect hearts and arrows). Since this is about 2K less and a color grade lower, I would say that this is not a "good" deal per se, but it's an ok deal if you're ok with the color and it's eye clean. I would like it better if it had medium or strong blue fluorescence, but this is just my personal preference for lower colored diamonds.
EGL isn't as highly regarded as AGS and GIA on this forum and people tend to discount the color and clarity by at least 1 grade on an EGL stone. If it were my purchase, I think 10K for this stone would be too much and I would consider other options.
Likely 2 grades lower. I would honestly look at GIA and AGS stones if you want to be sure of what you are getting. You cannot rely on EGL's interpretation of "hearts and arrows".
Have you seen any N-O-P round brilliants? Because they are going to be very tinted.
Could you give us the numbers for it? They're hard to read on the cert. I know what everyone else is saying, but honestly, EGL can be a really good deal. Have you seen it in person? Do you have pictures? Just as a side not, they're NOT always "2 grades off". I have an EGL stone and it's right on with what GIA would grade it. So it really depends on the stone. You need to see it in person or pictures and if you can't see it in person, I'd ask for a video.
