I''ve been lurking here for some time now, and this place is AMAZING! I figure it is time for my first post.
I''d like to hear some opinions on a round brilliant I found online. I''ve been having trouble finding a stone I like at my local B&M stores and I''m considering buying online. I just don''t have much confidence with an online purchase and would love to hear some opinions on this stone and some advice for buying online.
Here''s some detail about the stone:
1.42 RB
AGS Cut Grade:0,0,0
Polish: Ideal
Sym: Ideal
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Flo: None
Measurements: 7.17 * 7.22 * 4.46
Depth = 62.0%
Table = 55.9%
Pav angle = 40.9
Crown angle = 34.3
HCA: 1.4 – Excellent, within TIC range
Light Return: Excellent
Fire: Excellent
Scintillation: Very Good
Spread: Very Good
I looks to me like it could be a good stone, but I''m no expert. I don''t need a perfect stone, and don''t mind the SI2. I just want it to be eye clean, and have brilliance and fire. Is there anything that looks bad with this stone? Can it be an SI2 and still be eye clean?
I was thinking about purchasing the stone and a setting online from James Allen and bringing my purchase to a local 3rd party appraiser. If I don''t like it I have 30 days to send it back for a refund. Does this sound like a safe next step? Should I invest in an IdealScope for inspections?
