I love this site and have used it to gain valuable information. Now that I''ve found what I want, I need some advice. I found a diamond I liked that''s within my budget and wanted to know if it''s actually a good deal. Here are the specs:

Radiant cut 2.00 cts
dimensions: 7.88x6.76x4.49mm
depth: 66.4
Table: 76%
Crown height: 7%
Pav. depth: 56%
Color: E
Clarity: SI2
Fourescence: none
EGL cert.

I''ve inspected the stone several times. Compared to higher priced VVS1-2 stones, there was a difference in the clarity I guess it was. This stone has a more shattered glass look whereas the others less so. Since the others were outside my budget and jeweler owns this one and says they''re giving it to me a great price I thought I''d consider it. They are offering it to me for $12k and I don''t know if this is good or what. Any advice is appreciated as I''ve seen so many stones and so many looks and so so many price ranges, now I''m getting overwhelmed and confused.

Thanks!

Radiants are best judged with your eyes ,, sounds like this one is speaking to you.
Does it make your heart go pitter-patter?

Im a little leary of the egl cert,, does it say egl usa?
Id probable get the grade checked by an independent appraiser if it was me.

Well, I''m not in love with the numbers on this one. The crown height is too low and the table is too big. But if you''ve seen it and really love it, maybe it''s the one for you. I''ll do a search for you and see what I find that is comparable.

Here''s a stone I really like, but it is a few thousand more than the stone you picked out:

Here''s another possibility, the numbers aren''t quite as good, but it could be a very nice stone. Not much more than the one you picked:

Here''s one more that seems too cheap, it probably isn''t eyeclean. You could check with the vendor to make sure:

If you want to buy with a local jeweler, I would try to find one that has a GIA report and table and depth in the low to mid sixties. Also crown height 10% or higher would be good. SI2 isn''t necessarily bad for radiants because they tend to hide inclusions better.
