Newbie needs cushion help

Hi! I''ve been lurking here a few weeks and absorbing so much information! I''m newly engaged and my boyfriend and I are searching for a great ring and a good price. I was hoping one of you cushion experts could take a look at the specs on this stone and let me know what you think. My understanding is that the medium blue fluorescence might help this "I" look a bit whiter. What do you think of the cut of this stone? I''m waiting to get more info from the vendor, but thought I would get your advice...This stone is listed for $1,741. I know it''s hard to tell just from specs what the stone will look like...but are there any major problems based on this info?

Well, it''s really hard to tell by the numbers, you really need to show us pictures for us to tell you much of anything. But if this is a modern cushion, I really recommend AT LEAST VG/VG for polish and symmtery and EX/EX is greatly preferred. But it''s just a preference...

I looked up the GIA report for the stone, which says it is a "Cushion Brilliant". Is that the modern cushion? I''ve read some threads here about the various cushion types/names, but I am still confused!!

PS is probably the most informed place in regards to Cushion Diamonds...
Since Cushions are one of the wildest Diamond cuts out there, you really need to read and educate yourself.

Sit down..., relax..., and read, read, read....
