Newbie.... need help wtih e-ring - best rock for my budget?

I need some help. I am looking to spend 15-20k (total cost) for an e-ring. That is my budget. I am looking for the best 1.5 to 1.75 round diamond for my money. I have been searching pricescope for a few days... and have found people to be very helpful and knowledgeable here.

With that in mind... I have looked at witeflash.com , etc... and have noticed some amazing diamonds. Would you recommend a Hearts and Arrows diamond... or would a ideal cut round diamond work just as good?

Overall...any suggestions on ring designers? I am looking for something classic, in platinum. Maybe something with some smaller stones on the sides? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, 3 options look attractive, just off the top, but you can see these and more by using the search by cut database, constraining D (why not) and VS1 on the low side, and H SI 1 on the high side, accepting your size range, eliminating EGL and constraining Excellent to Excellent.

This 1.52 ACA G VS2 from WF
This 1.6 F VS@ H&A from WF
and this 1.75 F SI1 from GOG

So, these 3 are within $1K of each other, and all 3 may be worth consideration, or more.

So... each of these diamonds look good. What about the Heart and Arrows type... are they really better than an ideal cut round diamond?

Also... any good ring designers that anyone would recommend?

HI...

You have a very nice size budget to work with....we just got an amazing stone (great stats) from WF 1.77 HSI2 for little under $9000...the rest of our budget (which was $11,500) went to have our setting custom made with amazing diamonds in it...

As for the H&A and an Ideal cut....I really think it is a personal preference. I personally chose an Ideal cut (GIA)....it doesn''t matter to me if I were to see the arrows....but there are a lot of others who LOVE IT...so that is why I say it is all personal preference.

With your budget and finding the right vendor...you will have one GORGEOUS diamond coming your way!

I think I will go either Ideal or H&D. Not really sure yet. I am just starting to look... ETA of Thanksgiving for proposal.

Let me ask you guys this... is color really THAT important? Is something like a "D" really worth it? I am thinking (also by reading here) that the cut is the most important thing. On the clarity standpoint... I think I definitely want VS1 or better.
