first of all, thank you to all you experts sharing valuable information in these forums. I am new to diamond buying and need some advice. I have set up some parameters. Please help me.
Cut-Princess, CT-0.75 to 1.00, Price-2000 to 3000. may be little more; might go for something like,

Hello Nimb.

I too am a newbie on here (today''s my first day!) and.. I am in search of the same. To be honest with you.. I would like to get it from the same store as the ering (it was custom made) but for a .76 ct Vs2 G (i think those were the specs), they were asking for $4999. I''d like one that''s closer to a 1.0 carat but would rather get a better quality one that is smaller... minimum being .75 ish. They said that the diamond was an Elexese princess cut.. whatever that means but I''ve found prices on the internet SOOOOO much cheaper. I''m confused and not sure what I should do either...

Still looking by the way... Maybe we can help each other?

Sure. I guess we are looking for something similar. I am planning to explore pricescope.com and see if I can get some good diamond from whiteflash/bluenile/james allen. I will let you know if I find something. Please let me know your progress as well.

Hello again. I''ve been reading all the posts on PS about princess cuts and now I''m sooooooo worried - as it seems like a majority of the ppl have ruled it out as a majorly problematic cut. I really have no interest in buying a different cut - so this has been a not-so-pleasant reading experience. In any case, I''m looking for the diamond to set in an ering (that already has a lot of sidestones and paves around it). The ring was custom made at Robbins Bros here in Cali and RB quoted us a price of $5000 for a .76 carat Elexese. THAT IN ITSELF has caused me to search through hundreds of OTHER threads here on PS. Eek.
