newbie - need advice on princess cut ring

Hi everyone,

After doing lots of research online and going to many jewelry stores, I finally made my purchase online.

Here are the details:

princess cut
carat: 0.77
clarity: vs1
color: F
polish: excellent
symmetry: excellent

measurements: 5.20 x 5.18 x 3.55
depth: 68.5%
table: 69%
The diamond is set in a platinum ring.
final price: a little over 3k.

I have the GIA grading report (diamond dossier). I bought under the condition that I can get it appraised by an independent lab and then return it for a full refund if I''m not satisfied. The problem is, I have no idea where to go to get it appraised.

Once I get it appraised and to my liking, then I want to get it resized. It is set in a 4-prong platinum setting that is 1/2 size larger than my girlfriend''s finger. Where can I go to get it resized and do I have to buy another ring or can they use the exisiting one?

where online are you buying it from?? They won''t resize it for you?? is this because you might return it or do they just not size rings??

I purchased this ring from a seller on ebay.
