Hey Guys,
I am still on cloud nine!!! Marie told me that usually it takes up to a week however that was with the "stuller" setting. I saw a Veragio solitaire setting that I fell in love with although it was priced at $580 it may be a lot more since the price of gold has went up since they originally priced it. So I was thinking about the GOG solitaire setting but it''s $100.00! It really really light in weight and I don''t like light weighted rings but I guess I could deal. I don''t know if I should try looking for some nicer temporary solitaires online. Blue Nile has two of them priced at 350.00 which isn''t bad and it''s "looks" heavier. I can already tell that I am in love with Vatche X-prong and Knox settings. Do you guys know where I can get X prong dupes from also do you know if GOG will set it for me? Thanks a bunch for everything Y''all!

P.S. thank you all for you support and especilly Sera (your previous posts on your own search were really helpful to read)

Hey Sna77,
The Gap jeans thing was only a hypothetical example. I don''t quite know his reasoning or our reasoning however I think it is quite understandable. Despite the Kay situation I am very proud of myself, I am probably one of the few 20-year olds to have come across PS and have gone forth and made a great decision. Yes we are the youngest amongst our friends to have a serious relationship (we''re high school sweethearts, 4 years strong!). I attend an Ivy League university so all of my friends will probably get married after they complete their residencies and internships in their forties (lol, no offense to pre-meds out there). But Yeah, sorry for my syntax but this is what happens when I am gushing with happiness!

i don''t think Bluenile will sell just their settings, unless they have chagned their policy recently. GOG will set your stone for you into what ever setting you bought. they carry vatche so that would be an easy solution. i''d talk to them about the verragio you loved though, if they will sell it to you for the $580 that''s a great price and then it wouldn''t even be a temp

thats great! really happy for you guys. Excel diamond www.superbcert.com will set someone else''s stone in a Vatce setting... I purchased my FI''s setting from them... Good luck!

It was a fun, though stressful, journey for me... glad you found my torture helpful

Now when your friends are ready to make their diamond purchases, you can point them to PS to make informed decisions and get the best bling for their buck.

Your ring is really going to stand out from the average ring; it''s definitely a good feeling to see the top quality of the cut shining on your finger and knowing you did not overpay for an inferior cut.

Definitely check on settings through GOG like mrssalvo suggested. You can find some on their site through the "Settings" link... but some I can''t locate on the site. There was a thread there (I think on their custom pieces?) that had the link... I''ll try to find it unless someone else has it.

I can''t wait for the pictures.

Oh My GOD!!! I just had the best experience at...

Good Old Gold!!!

Jonathan and Marie are sooo amazing! I selected a Princess of Hearts diamond with all the sparkle, hearts and arrows that anoyone could love. Jon and Marie are just great people (shoutouts to them) they took the time to really educate my fiance and myself on diamonds. One thing I found very impressive and surprising was the fact that they pointed out all the flaws of the prospective diamonds. They showed me why I was getting a certain price, it was amazing! I cannot stop gushing about the experience and my fiance has such a trained eye, he can spot feathers and inclusions with his naked eye.

The diamond itself is just absolutely amazing, i don''t remember all the specs but I bet I can look them up on gog.com but it''s gorgeous. I believe its a .88 Princess of Hearts E I1(eye clean to me). It took us a while to find a setting. With a stone so beatiful I just wanted to get a nice flushfit solatire but we decided upon a ''stuller'', I beleive. I saw all the Tacori''s up close and boy are those nice! I am really debating whether or not I should just get a plain and inexpensive Tiffany band for the time being and then maybe in a year or so get a proper setting. I dunno.

Thank you all for being so amazing and insightful and for referring me to GOG.

Oh, and yes, Good Old Gold carries Vatche and several other brands. Look at the brands on their site and then go to those websites to look at all the designs. GOG does not put pictures of all the settings on their site, but they can order any of them for you.

Mrs. (almost), I have been following your thread, I just didn''t chime in as you were already getting so much great advice. I''m so glad you had a great experience at GOG, but not surprised in the least. They are a great co. to work with. And your ring sounds beautiful!! I can''t wait to see it!

I also hope the return goes well for you.
