Hey Everyone,
I recently purchased a diamond from James Allen and everything looked great (i thought) and am still waiting on the delivery. My concern is the feather on the edge of the crown and on the pavilion. It's very small, but noted on the GIA and visible on the picture they provide on the site under magnification. I asked the sales rep Josh if it reached the surface and he said no in addition to saying it was eye clean so i felt comfortable and went ahead w/the purchase. I requested the feather be covered by a prong if possible.

Now, after researching feathers more, i'm really concerned about breaking/chipping. I've attached the stats below and the link to the diamond on the james allen site where the gia and diamond pic are viewable. Should I be concerned? I'm going to have it checked out/appraised once i recieve it. Any advice or opinions are greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

The angles are not good on this stone, will be leaky and the loupe image seems to be showing leakage. Do you have the Idealscope image for it?

thanks for the responses...guess i should have done more research prior to buying it. Well, at least J/A has a 30 day return policy and I''m not on a tight deadline, so in that regards it''ll be ok. I''m not going to lie, the pricepoint I got on the stone was a definate factor in my decision. I guess the cut grade being excellent doesn''t equal good performance all the time. Once I see the stone and have it checked out I''ll post again w/what I''m going to do. Well, this is definately a learning experience and I''m glad pricescope is here. Thanks again.
