Hi everyone,

Boyrfriend and I are Bostonians just freshly settled in the Greenville, SC area. We have no idea where to shop for e-rings around here...don''t know which jewelers to trust and so on. Is there anyone in the area that can point us in the right direction? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much!

Charlotte is not too far away so that''s where I would go. If you don''t want to buy your ring online there are lots of great jewelry stores. Karat Patch, Diamond''s Direct (has a TON of settings), Morrison Smith (they are suppose to be known for their custom work but I don''t have anything from them)...the list goes on. Most are in the SouthPark area.

Hey DQ,

Try contacting Bruce at Diamond Jewelers of South Carolina. It''s in G''ville. Here is a link to their website:

http://diamondjewelersofsc.com/

Their site isn''t good, but a friend of mine bought a ring from him and said he was great to work with and had great prices. He was very complimentary of how Bruce handled the process as far as not trying to "sell" him on anything.

Also, I''m working with a guy in Charlotte, which isn''t too far from you. I plan on getting a price from Bruce as well, but was told about him after I began working with my guy in Charlotte. FYI, my guy in Charlotte is cheaper than any of the online sites I have found and that''s all GIA stones, so there''s no funny business.

Where to go in South Carolina?

I would go to the same places people in California and New York go to:

Bluenile.com
Goodoldgold.com
Whiteflash.com

etc.

Stay away from B&M stores!

Awesome, thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it!! Bruce sounds like a must-have on our list! Happy shopping!

If your not apposed to the drive. Charleston has tons of options ranging from several custom and boutique jewelers that have some great offerings and very reasonable pricing for being in a tourist areas. Just have to stick to the ones along King Street. Joint Venture is awesome, the do alittle bit of everything from estate, consignment, etc. There are several small custom places just before Charleston Place that you would not believe the quality. By far the most places to look in one area. Not your typical mall shops either.

I am from Columbia and now live about an hour from Charlotte and will tell you that you can see a large number of the best settings between Diamonds Direct and Karat Patch in Charlotte. But I will forewarn you that you will not find diamonds at the same quality and price at local jewelers that you can through certain online jewelers. We got my new ring diamond at Good Old Gold and my earring diamonds through WhiteFlash after looking extensively locally.
