New to Diamonds, need help!

I want to first explain my situation. I recently bought on ebay a 1.00 ct H, VS1 ideal round diamond to put into an engagement ring, along with this diamond came 10 H-I, VS-SI 5 point princess cuts and I got all this for $2,900. The large stone does not have any appraisal or cert., but I did take it to a local jeweler and he tentatively agreed with the size, color and clarity. My first question is did I get a good deal if this an accurate representation of the stones. My second question is how do go about getting a GIA certification for this diamond. My third question is I dont need the 10 small diamonds, so I would like to sell them however I have no idea how much they are worth. I saw one link that was posted in another forum on here but I dont know if i was comparing apples to apples as it said russian top cut beside all the sizes. Last, I was planning on getting the tension set ring in the attached file, do you think that this ring would be good for this stone. If someone could help me I would truly appreciate it.

Why don''t you save the small diamonds for her wedding band? It sounds like you need to get an appraisal of your stone. They will give you a report on everything you could or need to know including price. Good luck.

No, ssjewels.com was not my vendor so that picture may not actually be of the diamond I bought. I just assumed it was as that was the picture on the ebay auction and it did not state anything different.

As far as getting it appraised, I wanted to get a GIA certificate for it, but I dont know the process of how to get that done. Also, I dont know that we will get a wedding band as the engagement ring is an odd shape and I dont know where I could find one that fits it.
