Hi all...I am new and I wanted to say you all have the greatest advice and hope to learn a lot.

I have been with my bf for 3 years now and he wants to know exactly what type of ring I want for our engagement. I know I DEFINITELY want the Princess 3 Stone White Gold. But please help me on like everything!!!!

I dont want too small cuz Im a little picky but I dont want to go over $3,000 either. I dont want a lot of imperfections or yellow. Sorry if I sound stuck up but isnt this about the only thing a girl can get thats big? hehehe

Thanks

What are you hoping for re: size? Unfortunately, $3,000 won''t get you a lot of size, especially with a three stone ring. With a three stone a lot has to go into the side diamonds too, but then again, you get some more finger coverage. If you want a big center, best to throw everything you have into the center stone, and then maybe get the 3 stone setting for an anniversary.

Is the $3000 for the diamond + setting or the diamond sans setting?

See I dont know what any of that means like prong, setting, etc. This is why I need help. Well 3,000 for the whole ring

This will give you an idea of what you could get..

Center stone. Not this exact one, but specs and price range. Then you would need two smaller stones, which would run 500-600 each, or there abouts.

And the setting in white gold.

As suggested, you might want to put it all in one bigger stone in a simple setting, until you could get the sidestones.

I guess I am looking for a 1.00ctw because a 2.00ctw is like $5,000

I don''t know if you wanted to buy locally or online, but if online, I''d contact a vendor, give them your budget and let them help you. If you do a search on here, you''ll get lots of info on many vendors.

Well is it better to buy the ring all together or the setting then the stone? But then what if you buy the wrong size setting?

wrong size for diamond or finger size?

ideally, you'd have the diamond picked out before you buy the setting so you know if it will fit in the prongs. if you buy the wrong ring size setting, then you can always get it resized.

i don't think there's a "better" just personal preference. some people like the convenience of having the ring already together. some people (like me) decided to "build" the ring.
