This may seem a silly question - I haven''t seen an ideal cut RB stone IRL. I have seen GIA cert VGs at best. I have reserved (learnt my lesson there then!) a H&A ACA stone from WF- do ideal cut stone have noticeably more sparkle and brightness? I don''t want my expectations to be too high (and then for me to be disappointed).

Here are the specs anyway.

Report: AGS
. Shape: A Cut Above H&A
. Carat: 1.210
. Depth %: 61.3
. Table %: 55.8
. Crown Angle: 34.7
. Crown %: 15.3
. Star : 50
. Pavilion Angle: 40.6
. Pavilion %: 42.8
. Lower Girdle %: 76
. Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted
. Measurements: 6.84-6.87X4.21
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

Thank you!

In some lighting yes they do.
In some lighting no they don''t.

Get it...then take it to the jewelry store and try to compare it with any of the non-ideal cut stones there. I bet it will be comparable in price and will be able to outperform all the little suckers at the regular jeweler.

Ditto, but I am sure you will be pleased, that is another fab diamond!

Hey there, ditto what the others have said.
I also wanted to add, after being on PS for a while and seeing all the wonderful diamonds, I thought I had pretty high expectation too, and like you had not seen an ideal stone in my ct size IRL.
When I did get my ring, it exceeded all expectations - was whiter, looked bigger and brighter than I could''ve hoped ..and I still admire it every day, lol.
I hope this is the case for you ELH

Thanks for all the advice. Arjunajane - I have checked out your ring *many* times on SMTR and it is gorgeous. It has taken me a while to realise that since I have chosen the sleek line legato too, it should be pretty similar! If mine turns out anything near as nice as yours I''ll be just made up! You mentioned that they changed the claws on yours- what did they do differently- did you think they were too bulky in the original? I''m not trying to steal your innovation, I just want as minimal and smooth a setting as poss and if the original claws are a bit big, I''ll maybe see what they can do!

Pacing round the phone now, trying to pluck up the courage to send the bank wire!!

Looks beautiful to me! And I certainly notice a well cut CLEAN stone on someone''s hand because it sparkles like no other...but you''ve got to make sure to keep it clean for maximum effect!

Nope, it''s a beauty. Try it, you''ll like it.

Seriously, if you buy a stone like this, you''ll never have to wonder if you could have done better.
