New setting & Mum's custom band

Earlier, I went to meet up with a friend from PS who just came back from Melbourne and helped me buy an Expert model Idealscope from Precious Metals. All I wanted was to test out my new toy and to check out the supposed H&A that a local chain-store started selling recently, I was not intending to purchase anything.

My mum has a diamond project that we recently came up with together, a 5 stone melee-set band with stones approx 0.2ct each to sufficiently cover her finger span. So in the store, I asked to look at a 0.21ct H/ VS2 stone they had already set in a pendant. Little did I know that it would be a well-cut H&A that I would end up buying!!!! They don't provide any numbers but the Arrows really pop out at me and the IS image looks great. Ah the perils of being diamond-obsessed......

Sorry if my first post wasn''t clear enough. I''m actually in the process of slowly buying 5 loose stones for a custom 5stone bezel-set band for my mum. This particular shop only sells them with the setting, but since it''s such a beauty, I succumbed. So now the plus point is we get to wear it until we have all 5 of the stones for the ring.

My mum & I went to a different branch of the local chain-store and ended up with these 2 beauties, both 0.19ct H/ VS2, pre-set in rings. That much closer to the 5stone bezel-set ring!!!

Noobie, thanks! I think the shop that we are going to for the proper setting is willing to take in extra settings and off-set them against the price of the new setting. We won''t have any use for them and they were a *bonus* so to speak.

Michelle, I certainly hope she will share her ring with me. I''ve been wanting a 5/7 stone prong-set band myself, like those from signedpieces, but have been holding out till next year. Hope to hear the good news from you soon about your pendant!
