New Ruby Earring Drops

I picked up my new ruby pear earring drops from the jewelers today. I''m very pleased and I''d like to share a few pictures with you. The rubies are old stock Burmese pear cut rubies I purchased from Dana at Mastercut Gems. They are 1.53 ctw and 6.7 x 4.8 mm and came to Dana already cut. Link One look at the vendor picture and I was smitten. I love a red ruby, and the color of these looked good enough to eat.

The rubies were every bit as pretty in person. I was delighted when I opened the package and first saw them.

Dana suggested that these stones would make great earring dangles. I had to agree. After discussing options with my jeweler, we agreed that bezels were the way to go. I picked them up today, and I love these.

Rubies and yellow gold are a match in my book.

LG - My jeweler isn't into the Internet, but he keeps looking at my pretties, and tells me I need to go to Tucson. He generally goes to the show and gets updated on all the latest gemstone treatments, pricing, etc. I think hanging out on PS gets me a lot of that education.

Lovely rubies, and before I realised you already set them I was gonna suggest bezels to try to make them even more red, so nice choice of setting there
