I’ve had three newly made rings that have no metal stamp. It’s more a nagging irk in the back of my mind than a trust issue with the three vendors.
Well to tell the truth - one was sold as platinum but it is sooooo lightweight I sneaky think it’s palladium.

anyone else?
- tell me I’m being a ninny?

I don't think you are being a ninny at all. I don't know anything about what is and isn't stamped but I do think there should be an inscription stating what the metal is...otherwise how does one know? Of course someone could falsify the inscription but that could be true of almost anything. In any case I agree with you. Why isn't it stamped?

Thank you - now i know I’m not the only one!

New pieces? Is it not law that they need to be stamped with its material? I would wonder and be a tad put off as well.
*off to check my new ring*
Not sure of the laws on previous metals and how they differ from one country to the next?
two of mine were US based sales, and one was Europe/Asia based sale.

it is curious!

What’s the verdict? Is your new ring stamped?

I thought it was illegal to sell precious metal the wasn't stamped with the carat weight

My finger is so swollen but I think I see a stamp in there. I’ll take it off tonight. :)

You are not being a ninny. That is just bizarre. I had a ring reshanked and he said they forgot to stamp it but would be happy to. I never bothered.

None of my titanium or cobalt chrome rings have stamps bragging about the metal.
I don't care; the metal just holds m diamond in place.
To me, that makes the metal pretty precious.

Thanks!
I guess thinking that a jeweler might damage my ring(s) testing the metal, or not using the correct methods for working on the metal, were my concern.
That relates to using a jeweler to do the work that one trusts.
