New platinum band with old ring?

So, I have an old platinum ring with a 1ct transitional cut, not sure of the exact date but it is made of 90% plat, 10% iridium. I'd like to buy a thin diamond band to wear with it, this would ideally be a vintage one but I can't seem to see the perfect one! How long would it take for a shiny new band to "dull" to the same grey colour as my ring? And are there any issues stacking plat 950 with the older alloy???

That's interesting, this will be an occasional right hand piece so sounds like it will take much longer!

could you try having the old platinum ring polished and then let them "age" together?
