So now I''ve really done it to myself...
I have decided that I don''t love my oval, and I have not one but TWO jewelers out there looking for a different stone for me. BUT... I am pretty obsessed with that setting I saw at Dimend Scaasi the other day. The setting really lends itself to a squarer stone (like a cushion) and not I''m torn between a different oval in a similar setting to what I have now (with the pear side stones) or a cushion with the DS setting.
My worries about going to a cushion:
- I can''t even find good solid parameters to go off of in looking for a cushion. I''ve read everything from "use the 60/60 rule" to "there are no rules." Any advice here is MUCH appreciated, including insight into how much color shows in a cushion.
- Will I get tired of the DS setting in a short period of time? Even though it''s kinda vintage looking I feel like it''s a pretty "in right now" sort of design with the halo and all the pretty stuff going on on the sides, but I wonder if in a few years I won''t love it.
- I know that I would give up a significant amount of size going from an oval to the same ct. sized cushion. Will that make me crazy too or will the halo make up for it?
- How to explain this to my husband??? If I get another oval I can probably do it pretty "under the table" and he''ll never even notice. But if I come home with a cushion, well, even Mr.-I-Don''t-Pay-Attention-To-Anything-Jewelry-Related might pick up on that -- LOL!
Ohhhhhhh!!!
