Hi there... I''m new here. I finally decided on the 1.63L rectangular cushion from GOG. The entire experience was very positive - the staff there is great. I love, love the diamond. They made me a custom setting - a basic 4-prong setting on a 2.2 band in platinum. Once I get some photos I''ll post them so you can see
.
There are a few things that surprised me about the setting, and I''m not sure quite what to do about it...the ring is slightly out of round - underneath the head (under the prongs) the band does a soft "s" curve, so the band doesn''t go in a straight line underneath the head - does that make sense? When I put it on a flat surface, with the head hanging off the edge, the two ends of the band are not parallel. Also, one of the prongs is slightly bowed - it is more curved than the others, bowing to the right. This prong also has a small, visible scratch on the platinum. I have emailed the GOG staff about my concerns, but since it was custom I am not sure if there is anything I can do.
These things don''t detract from the magic of the stone, but I am surprised that they are part of the setting. Am I being reasonable?
Can I get thoughts on this? Thanks SO much.
