Hello everyone, I have recently became engaged and I really dont know what I want. I have been a diamond girl for years now so I believe I am knowledgeable when it comes to the specs stuff. I cant choose between an asscher or a round. Can anyone make a suggestion on where to go for a good selection of designers and loose diamonds around 2.00 Carats. I like Vassi, Ritani and I love Halos. I want something original and different mabe a stacker. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. I will post picture ideas when I get them together. Pearlman's is known for designer settings at good prices. He does have some larger stones. I'd also recommend Good Old Gold for rounds and asschers. It is good to call and talk to them about what you want because they can get things that may not be listed on the site.

If you already know about cut, then I'll mention that Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash carry superideal hearts and arrows rounds, both AGS0 and GIA Excellent cut.

Also, you can search by cut here:

A nice example:

Hello Princez and WELCOME to the PriceScope forums!

And CONGRATS on your recent engagement!! I understand what you mean about being torn about the diamond shape - there are sooo many beautiful diamonds! I LOVE Asschers also, but I wound up going for a Round Brilliant. RB's are almost a perfect market and there are a lot of tools out there to help consumers understand the cut of the stone.

Asschers are a lot more difficult. "Ideal" is a little harder to define and it's harder to identify a great stone over the internet - I think you have to see them in person. I don't know if it matters to you or not, but if you compare an Asscher and a RB of the same carat weight, the RB will have a larger diameter and will give the impression of a larger stone. Maybe something to think about.

If you do look at Ascchers, check out Daniel K designs - you can find them at Pearlman's. Also at Solomon Brothers

PS - Also check out the "Eye Candy" Folder in the "Show Me The Ring" forum for some ideas. Have fun!
