New Loupe on Ideal-Scope.com?

Hi gang,

Has anyone noticed the different (and cheaper) loupe that is now selling in the http://www.ideal-scope.com shop? I''m just wondering how the lens compares to the $35 one that used to be there with the blue and white plastic housing. Apparently the $35 had a lens compareable to a $300 loupe from what I''ve read on some topics here. I imagine being cheaper and in a nicer housing that the new one maybe has a more basic lens?

I just received my $35 loupe too, along with my first handheld ASET scope

I was quite impressed with the loupe and I was considering ordering a second one when I noticed it had changed.

Those with that loupe are rather lucky!
We can not get them anymore unless we order in several 1000''s not 100''s

The new one is OK because it has a big field of view - but it is not as crisp.
We are negotiating to gain supply the best loupe I have ever seen through, as a top dollar option.
But it will be between a few and several hundred dollars!

Would anyone here pay that?
As an appraiser and diamond buyer - I loved it - but it is a lot!

Thanks Gary for the quick reply! I must have been one of the last few to score the $35 loupe! The picture changed the day after I received mine.

GAH, and here I am still contemplating ordering one. I''m a bit of a stickler when it comes to optics.
