Ok so I had been wanting to get a ring for a while for my girlfriend. We are on a very tight budget so I had to get a credit card through my parents. So anyway, I shop and I pick the ring. A 1/2C (E)Certified Colorless in a 14k white gold band with platinum prongs. Now with tax and lifetime warranty I still had to dig in my pocket. The total was $1650.

So I am searching on the website today just because. Now the have a ring that is similar to the one I bought Except it is Certified Colorless (F)in a 18K white gold band with platinum prongs. Now the price of the ring without warranty and tax is $1127. Now with tax and and warranty probably around $1300 maybe less.

So my question is what is better? It seems like its a good deal and it will put money back in my pocket to do something more special. On one hand I save money, go higher to 18K white gold and go down from E to F in color.

Or do I keep the one I bought which is more money, less gold, and one letter higher in color F to E.

Please help me...give me your opinions. I really thank you all!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it GIA/AGS?

If you have copies of the gia reports, can you post the angles, table, and depth? What is the clarity?

Since you're on a really tight budget, I'd get the cheaper one. 300 isn't a lot, but there might be something else you want/need?

Yea I will post them tomorrow..going to get ready to go to bed right now. I don''t have it on me right now for the ring I actually have.

Oh, princess cut.

Color doesn''t really matter betwen E or F.

You could also consider a G colour ( reliably graded) what are the clarities of these diamonds?
