Hi, I'm new and decided to join after reading at work today. I just designed/ordered a ring for my girlfriend and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on the overall quality/price since I'm still pretty new at this.

1.01 GIA certified Cushion Cut nearly perfectly square 1.02 Length/Width Ratio
H color, VS2 (eye clean)
VG cut, symmetry, polish
18K Pave setting with a halo around the center stone

Paid a little over $5K total from a highly reccomended local jeweler in Dallas.

I attached some pictures but they were taken with my Iphone when I went to look at it so I apologize that they are incredibly blurry. The ring is on my finger in the picture, I think I wear something like a size 6-6.5 ring (the ring is sized for 5.5)

Advice/comments are welcome!

It''s impossible to tell from the pictures if you got a good diamond or not because they''re too blurry. But in any case, since you already bought it, I''d say to just be happy with the purchase and not worry if someone else is going to tell you if it''s a good buy or not.

I haven''t paid for it yet and their policy is that I don''t pay unless i''m 100% happy with it. Forget the pictures, just looking at the general specs am I at least in the correct ballpark? I don''t mind paying 5-10% extra but not 20+

The specs seem fine but the problem with cushions, or any other non-round diamond, is that you can''t just tell by the numbers.

This video from GOG shows a good example of a few diamonds that all have very similar specs, but look very different - http://vimeo.com/4666251.

Thanks for the video. I will try and get some better pictures ASAP.
