New furbaby!

We visited Porter at a rescue group last weekend and lived him. He lived with cats before, but we wanted to be extra sure and have time to buy some necessities. The rescue lady brought him to us yesterday morning. He and Millie (our other dog) just hit it off great. One cat stuck around to meet him. No problem!

We are all still settling in, but I think everyone will adjust okay.

Porter is probably two years old and is a Catahoula leapord dog mixed with something.

Thank you all for the kind words. Today marks one,week and it has been busy. Lots of settle in and getting used to stuff, but it has been great. The cats are all getting used to Porter. We still keep him in a leash just to keep him a little away from them. They are getting closer to him but like to do so at their own speed (where he loves to just run right up to everyone). He really loves to play outside and is just doing great all around.

The saddest thing ever was at dinner. I made him get out from under the table and he had the saddest look ever and started kissing me like he was saying sorry.

He has been through 6 homes plus at least two rescue groups in his short life. He is "about two years old" but seems like he may be younger.

I love your home, TooPatient. I am so happy that beautiful Porter is going to be able to be a part of it forever now and not have to suffer constant separations. That poor baby! Rescuing animals is such a blessed act! He is a love dog!

I was tired and a bit unclear. Sorry!

He did something he knew he shouldn't (went under the table knocking into people during dinner and while the cats were under it) and when I told him to come out, he had this horribly sad face like he thought he had messed up really bad. He seemed to be licking and trying desperately to appologize so we wouldn't leave him. There was just this frantic, sad look in his eyes.
