Hi everyone:

Thank you all for your ongoing feedback and assistance.

Based upon a lot of input and things I have been reading I am opening myself to the possibility of shopping online for an engagement ring. Still a bit hesitant on it, but if I can find what I want, I think I would be open to a trusted online source.

Anyway, I found this diamond and was hoping to get your thoughts on it:

. Report: AGS
. Shape: Round Ideal Cut
. Carat: 1.065
. Depth %: 61.7
. Table %: 57
. Crown Angle: 34.8
. Crown %: 15.1
. Star : 51
. Pavilion Angle: 40.8
. Pavilion %: 42.9
. Lower Girdle %: 76
. Girdle: Very Thin to Medium Faceted
. Measurements: 6.53-6.55X4.03
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

I ran it through the HCA and it came back as a 1.5 with Ex/Ex/Ex/VG, which is a lot better than the diamonds my B&M jeweler was showing me. I''ve also attached the idealscope, for it. It looks good to me, but I''m not an expert on reading those. For what it matters, the diamond is about $6,400.

I am looking at pairing this diamond with a three-stone ring and either 40 or 50 point pink sapphires on each side (my g/f loves pink and that look).

Any feedback you can provide on this diamond and/or ring combo would be greatly appreciated. Also, any pointers as to buying online would really help me out too.

Thank you all so much for your help, I think I am getting on the right track. This really is a great forum and a great place to learn about diamonds, so many knowledgeable people on here.

Looks great. What was color and clarity?

You are definitely on the right track. You picked a winner, not a thing wrong with it!

Have you thought about having a pink center stone with the two white diamonds on the outside? That seems more popular. Heres a few examples>

Thanks for the feedback everyone! That makes me feel a lot better that I am at least moving in the right direction!

Oh yeah, color and clarity must have been cut off, sorry! It is a G / SI 1.

I understand from previous advice that since it is an SI 1, I should contact the vendor for them to verify that it is "eye-clean" before making any decisions?

Chel, thank for those links, I will give them a look over for some ideas!

Looks beautiful! Yes, ask if it is.

GOOD JOB Jibby!!!

Yup, have WF look at it and be very specific as to what you define as eye-clean. Personally I''d want it to be clean to someone with 20/20 vision 3 inches from the top, eight inches from the sides in normal light. Or whatever works for you. I think the WF eye-clean general standard is 8 or 10 inches. In the past they''ve had more than one pair of eyes do the evaluation if you ask.

Hope it works out!

Well, I''ve sent my first e-mail to the vendor requesting information about this diamond and my overall concept for the engagement ring. I''ve also asked them to verify the diamond is eyeclean at the standards mercoledi put forth above, so hopefully that checks out!

I''m very excited that maybe I am finally on the right track from what I can tell by the stats and not seeing it in person, I''m very optimistic about this stone. At the same time, I still have a good deal of hesitation about making such a large and important purchase through an online vendor.

I have to thank everyone for their insight and knowledge for the short time I''ve been here. You have all helped me a great deal and I am sure I''ll be providing nervous updates and asking more questions throughout the entire process!

That''s understandable, I think most are a bit nervous the first time. But you are working with a well respected and honorable company, so try not to worry too much. You''re going to end up with a stunning ring, and the next time will be a piece of cake!

And you''re quite welcome. Let us know how things go.

Remember that WF has a great return policy, so if you get it and don''t like it, you can always return it within 30 days and then go from there. So try not to worry too much. So many people here have loved their WF rings and I''m sure you will too! Congrats on getting this ball rolling!

Hi again everyone,

I heard back regarding the diamond today and was told the following regarding if it is eyeclean or not:

"The diamond is eye clean from 8" but the inclusion may be visible at certain angles from 3"."

Also, I was sent an enlarged photo of the stone (attached) and it does look like the inclusion is kind of large, black, and right in the middle of the stone.

Can I have your thoughts on this, should I stay away from this stone given the inclusion and perhaps ask them to find me something else?

Thank you all for your feedback!

Jibby it depends on your comfort level if this is acceptable to you, if not or you are concerned then WF may be able to find you a similar diamond which might be better. It wouldn''t worry me as I rather like a little birthmark as long as I am the only one who knows where it is!

Hi Jibby! I am so glad you decided to look at the online vendors. Look how great you did on the first try! I think the stone is excellent and I personally would be very happy with it. Lorelei is right about the inclusion, it really is a matter of personal preference and everyone has diffrent standards. I think it would be better if the inclusion were not near the center, but if it is only visible at 3" then I think its okay
