Hi, I don''t really know how to describe what I''m seeing but I''ll do my best.

diamond is 1.5 G SI1 round brilliant with sidestones set in white gold

beautiful ring...I love it but the center stone looks wierd.

changes color a lot in different lighting (pale blue in the car or outside, grayish blue inside, sometimes white and bright and perfect)

it seems more "silverish" than the diamond band

diamond band stays whitish and bright during light changes but center does not

I should add that it is very sparkly and has fire, it just seems more intense and maybe a different tone from the diamond band.

any thoughts?

Maybe some pictures would help?

Sounds like a normal diamond to me! They never look the same in different lighting? Maybe your melee are a whiter color grade?

I can never take a clear picture or tell true color when I look at computer images.

I guess what I''m seeing is a glowing silverish blue from the stone and the basket (?) but white but warmer goldish tones from the band.

My husband thinks I''m crazy by the way.

Is it possible the sidestones just don''t match well or could this be a fluorescence problem?

i''m not sure what you''re seeing but as surfgirl mentioned, diamonds change constantly (unless you have a poor cut that always just looks bad) and tend to reflect their environment. seeing different phases isn''t a bad thing!

sounds like the cool flourescence from the stone and the warmer tone from the white gold band
