New Coloured Asschers from Finewatergems!

I recently saw a post with a photo of the most wonderful Amethyst bought by a PS'er and cut to perfection by Gary at Finewatergems! On the strength of that, I contacted the wonderful Gary to discuss "needs"

.

So here are the results! Firstly is an SI clarity hot pink Spinel 7mm Asscher cut 2.40ct. I'm not really a "pink" person and this almost swayed me! However, one of my good friends was looking for a coloured (preferably pink) gemstone and an Asscher so it seemed silly to keep this gem to myself - so she's soon to be the new lucky owner! Gary says that in real life you don't see the inclusions although they are noticeable in the photograph.

And this is what it looks like after cutting! Woohoo! What a beauty! It's a 6mm violet spinel Asscher 1.58ct.

If you haven't dealt with Gary I can't recommend him highly enough. He's a gem (pardon the pun) to work with and I'm eyeing up another purchase as I type!

I love both stones! I have a pink fetish, but no great pink stones to speak of. I have an asscher cut amethyst set in a diamond halo on a wg band. It''s not nearly as saturated in color as your spinel, but it looks great with the halo.

Both are beautiful, however, I am not a "pink" person myself, so I am loving your violet spinel. Though, if someone were to give me the pink spinel as a gift, I am sure I would fine a way to cope...heh.
