I got a NEW CAR!!!

After 17 wonderfully adventurous years with my Nissan Pathfinder (260,000) it has been retired to lessor duty of hauling Costco finds, dogs to the vet, and scuba stuff. This SUV has taken me from BC to FL and all parts in between. I've towed boats, jet skis, horses, atvs, and numerous camping trips to many parks. Because of it's size and off road abilities I've gone places that others have turned around and retreated (Hummers too, lol).

It's really been a struggle to figure out what would be appropriate for my next car, and I did want a car, I think. For two years I've gone back and forth between sporty or practical. I've test driven, talked to people and read tons of reviews.

This is what I got.....a SUCKER all the way, right off the lot, no hassles....the salesman said it was "a beautiful sale." I have to add there is no regret, it's so much fun and responsive after all that "truck."

Very cute Solstice!

Very cool car! Congrats!

Thank you for pointing out that I forgot to mention what it is. I editied the first post to show that now.

Yay for you!! Top down driving is just the best. May you enjoy a gazillion healthy and safe miles in your "hot" Solstice!!

Sweet! Sounds like you''ve put your time in with practical, now for some fun!!

That is such a HOT car! Congratulations!!! And 17 years in the same Pathfinder, I''m impressed. Not too many people take good enough care of their vehicles or are willing to give up vanity for practicality, among other reasons, so this new one is well deserved. And so HOT!

Thank you! I''m in love with it, it''s so different than the "truck" and it''s taking some getting used to.

As for the longevity of the Pathfinder DH says the best thing I did was to make sure to change the oil regularly. Other than the A/C going out there has been no mechanical issues whatsoever in 260,000 miles....totally amazing and a real testament to their product. Hub''s fixed the A/C and it''s now colder than ever. He says he can keep that thing running for years still *(but I could care less about that now

I bet it does take some getting used to after a ''truck''! I drove a Toyota Corolla for 6 years and DH and I ended up selling it and buying a Chevy Trailblazer. Boy oh boy did it take some getting used to for me to go from my little "go cart" to a vehicle that was much higher up and much larger! When we pay off the TB I plan on getting a Volvo sedan so I''ll have to make the switch again from truck to car, but it somewhat excites me that I''ll have the maneuvering capabilities you don''t get with a truck no matter how agile it seems! I hate driving on the interstate and not being able to weave in and out of traffic as easily as I used to in my little bitty car...but I feel safer at the same time!

Congratulations!! Very cool car!! Looking forward to more pictures with the top down
