New asscher question

Well someone bought it out from under me. Lesson learned in that one.

Ok new diamond to consider. I know this one is outside the usual good cut parameters and the windmills aren't as wide as I would like but it does have a great spread and nice looking video. Vendor has confirmed that they cannot get an aset. Any thoughts on this diamond?

I like the "video" with the black background.
Would be way kewl if they could use a blue background then you could tell obstruction from leakage better.
It is well cut for what it is but it has a huge table and a very low crown height.
It shows that it was cut by a highly skilled cutter to pull it off.
On the other hand that is not a combination I think highly of.
Surface graining not shown needs to be checked to make sure it isn't eye visible on the crown when dirty.

I noticed the very low crown; that's the thing I most dislike. Thanks Karl.

If anyone can recommend an asscher with an over 8mm spread, good light return and colorless or near please chime in. I have a budget of around 30k and I'm having trouble finding a good one.

I know that feeling! I think its beautiful FWIW!

I am forbidden to link stones but,
near to(7.9mm) at 8mm and between 28k and 35k there are several options at h vs1/vs2 just over 3ct.
Most of them are virtual that anyone can get so have a vendor start pulling some in for testing that are in NY if interested.

What's frustrating is that no one seems able to get asets for any stone I like, and there are a few. Is buying the only option?

Contact a vendor in NY and have them pull in the stones that are local give them the report number or numbers or just a link to a site showing them.

I find the pricing so curious too - two stones with the exact same specs and is literally twice the price.

Thanks for your assessment, Karl - I liked the way it was cut and the large table was a surprise once it had rotated!

I guess it shows how important cutters' skills are in really getting the best out of a rough :)
