Dreamer - I absolutely LURVE that sencond Green Lake design. It has so much of what I''m after. Especially their pricepoints.
Good thinking to encorporate the Tsav''s. I def want a couple emeralds for the symbolizm... (birthstones) but maybe Tsav''s would be great for the halo. Would it be weird/uggs to mix Tsavs and Emeralds?

Swimmer actually has a good idea - if you want the OMC to look more symmetrical, you could put it in a thin bezel that would create a new "outline" for the stone.

When a diamond is misshapen, I have found that its almost always best to have it "float" above a halo of some type to help disguise the off shape. If you look at the top view of the Fay Cullen setting, you will see that the metal overlaps the stone and because the stone floats above that, the eye is tricked into thinking that the stone is shaped however the metal is. I have attached 2 more examples of what I am talking about (pictures are worth a thousand words, after all!).

What a fabulous find Mela Lu..I love it! I REALLY like the ring with the marquise sidestones..that is super-fab! I will see what I can find for similar designs (mounts), but you might have to go custom!!

This is from Lord of Gem Rings on ebay. Your jeweler could file the bezel down and put prongs on it instead. I''ve had a jeweler do that before.

Ooooh Mela - your "wonky" stone is just fab in my book!!! I think it would be absolutely smashing in the yellow gold w/ the emerald halo - although, I also tend to favor sapphires since they are my birthday stone!

Hey there Mela!

Sorry it took me so long to check in! First - great stone - what character!

As soon as I saw your stone I immediately thought HALO! I think it would be a really good way to mask the wonkiness of the cut!

I''d even go so far as to suggest perhaps a three stone ring, with halos all around. I do not have photoshop (or the necessary skills to do it) but I think that stone could look amazing with two round tsavorites or emeralds. And really, if you are going to halo the entire thing, the side stones would be much money... I''m sort of thinking along the lines of the Ritani Endless Love (I believe that is the name) three stone ring.

And I have *one* more thought...that stone would look REALLY lovely in rose gold, I think. Of course, I have kind of a thing for rose gold anyway...but I think the richness of the color of the diamond would look great with rose gold. Just wanted to put that out there.

Hey LittleL! Thanks for popping in. I know the Ritani Endless love 3 stone halo''s you speak of. Gorge! I def want a 3 stone look, but I do want to encorporate my other love - flowers! So...I think I''m still leaning towards that...

I love your idea of rose gold. Mmm. Food for thought. I''m in talks with Green Lake. LOVE their work and think they''ll "get" what I''m trying to achieve.

Too bad I don''t want more of a cocktail ring. All of you have posted such amazing options for cocktail rings!
