Hi all,

I'm totally a newbie here, and would like to ask your kind advice for the price level im looking at now.

GIA 1.35 ct.
F colour VS1 3ex
Flourescent none

Table 55%
Crown angle 33.5%
Pavillion angle 41%
Depth 60.7%
Culet none
Thin - medium

HCA score 0.9.

It's a beautiful stone exactly falling in the ideal range i was looking for, but I'm just worrying for tbe price quote i got at USD 18,450.
Do all you think it's ok to be that ex? Or should I try more to cut down?
Currently i'm bases in Singapore so price is generally quite higher than US.. But would like to get some genral ideas from all expertise :)

Will appreciate your ideas greatly! Thanks :)

seems a little overpriced....
comparables:

same price for a branded H&A stone

one lower in clarity but one higher in color, and its like 15500 (if you hit reserve you can see )

not branded but less expensive and hits the 1.5 mark

@ Niel: Thanks for your reply with few examples to compare! :)

It really helps as I'm almost blinded after seeing this stone with love..

I compared them with figures, and some of them are not 100% comparable due to few points which can bring down the price a bit.

1) For example, the one you quoted "same price for a branded H&A stone"
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.308-f-vs1-round-diamond-ags-104054185003
>> When I tried, it comes out with HCA score: 1.9 with 3 'Very Good', but mine is 3 Excellent with 1 VG at 0.9 score.

Light Return Excellent
Fire Very Good
Scintillation Very Good
Spread Very Good

Can my price be 'justified' if they're also kinda branded diamond by a private jeweler?

2) Another one that hits 1.5 ct -

>> this is not a triple excellent cut grade. Pollish is 'good'. So that's why it's quite much cheaper..

3) One more to compare is,

>> This one has Culet and Fluorescence which is still ignorable, but might affect in value also...
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: Negligible

I'm still confused and very much open to appreciate all of your advices! Kindly help :) thank you so much!!!

An HCA score of .9 isn't better than an HCA score of 1.9. The goal of the thing is to get under two. Doesn't mean its better the closer you are to zero.

And a Brian Gavin branded cut is one of the best cuts you can get, so I do think it would perform better than a GIA XXX, regardless of HCA score. And plus, if the stone is an AGS 000, no need to run the HCA.

The with negligible fluor you posted means it has the lowest fluor rating you can get with AGS . All stones have some fluor rating. And fluor in general is rarely bad. as for the culet, all stones have that as well, and the goal is to be pointed when your looking at modern rounds. Its just basically pointing that out.

And sure that 1.5 has good polish, but as with other ones I showed you pointed out, like the one from James Allen which is the most comparable, that stones a few thousand dollars over priced. But if you love it and you want to pay that price go ahead. I

What makes you say the stone is branded? Being sold by a private seller isn't what determines that exactly.
