First post, just started lurking yesterday. My wifes wedding band was stolen, it was a band with 30 princess cut diamonds in three rows, total ctw 1.86. She wants to replace it with similar ring but one that''s domed a bit and not so flat. We found exactly what she''s looking for online at World Jewelers. Stones are supposed to be VS and G in color, how do we verify this and what abotu the cut? Here''s alink, please tell me what I need to know as the price is excellent. World Jewelers is selling for $1800 in white gold and jewelers around here will want around 4k.

Please stay away from that band for a number of reasons.

1. World Jewels is the only entity saying those stones are what they claim, bet they aren''t if you get them appraised.

2. You know NOTHING about cut, making me assume that they are not well cut.

3. Those invisible settings are pretty, but aren''t usually recommended for a lifetime of wear.

4. World Jewels isn''t exactly a well known reliable vendor.

Places I would check/call for beautiful, well cut, eternity type bands are Signed Pieces, Whiteflash, Pearlman''s Jewelers, Winfield''s Jewelers, and Good Old Gold.

Thank you for the reply, I''ll keep lookin.

That''s been my problem. I''ve been to all these online jewelers and nobody has what she wants other than World Jewelers.I have a local jeweler that can make it, that may just be my best bet.

I may have just hit the jackpot. Bony Levy has a ton of these and they''re going to be 25% off at Nordstroms.

I still worry about the quality of the stones in these rings. They say nothing about cut which is what will make it really sparkle. Has your wife gone to look at all the new rings available to her? She might find something else she likes more if she does and you could make sure that the diamonds were good quality.

We''ve been looking some, very hard to find what she likes. We will continue and I will start asking about the cut as well.
