Hi everyone! My boyfriend is selling some gold coins that were left to him in order to pay for my E-ring. Does anyone know of a reputable company that purchases gold? They are worth quite a bit, so we really don''t want to use one of the pawn shop looking places. We are looking to sell them somewhere in Atlanta, South Carolina or North Carolina. Let me know if anyone has any ideas! Thanks in advance as usual!

I''m not sure, to tell you the truth. He''s had them for a long long time. I believe they are some sort of Ethiopian gold coins?

They may be worth more as coins than as scrap gold.

Find out.

If you don't I guarantee the person buying them as scrap gold will. (Don't ask them BTW.)

hummm...don''t know anything about Ethiopian gold coins, but if they were American gold coins i can give you some idea on their value.

South African Krugerrand, perhaps?

There''ll be a picture of Mr. Kruger (man''s head with a beard) on the front side and an antelope/springbok on the rear, with the date either side of the animal and it''ll say something like "KRUGGERAND" above the animal and "FYNGOOD 1OZ FINE GOLD" underneath.

This link might help you identify the country of the coins, just found it by doing a quick google search

A good rule of thumb is to never BUY OR SELL anything unless you actually know its relative value/worth.
If this means you need advice then be sure it is not from the other party to the transaction.
