I love that my GIA Diamond has it own ID number inside the diamond itself, I took it to an appraiser and he said I made a great choice. So here is my question, is every diamond that we all have... has an ID number within the Diamond itself?

The number you describe is written with a laser in microscopic type on the edge of the diamond. It’s become fairly popular recently but it’s only been available for about a decade or so. Even with ‘new’ stones, people will often choose to leave it off for a variety of reasons. If you want it and you don’t have it on a particular stone, there are quite a few services around the country that can write whatever you want including serial numbers and even personalized messages.

personally i wouldnt want ANYTHING engraved onto my stone. i view it as no better than a tattoo defacing a body. it seems more pure to me.................in my mind

Mine doesn''t have one...the right person with the right tools can take it right off, so it didn''t seem worth it to pay for one on mine (it didn''t already have one).
