so, I have been on a mission to select and purchase my gift to myself for my 50th...OMG, I''m getting ripe.
My goal is a nice pair of studs and a pendant. I have the previous stone on hold for the pendant. It is a round brilliant and received your blessings. I have two rounds. 72 and .71 triple ex''s S12 J''s, same color as the pendant, but the bad news is...round studs look awful on my ears.
I tried on martini, 4-prong, leverbacks..and it was awful. The only thing that POPPED on my earlobes was a small round HOF stone with a square halo. So this had me wondering if I should consider cushion cuts from GOG or if I should lower the size of the studs to approx. .50 and set them in square halos. The bottom line is that my ears POP when the earrings are disc-like and flat against my earlobe and not set so high in a basket. I tried on some jackets over the .70 and I felt that someone might want to tackle me and cut my ears off. They were too big, but at least they looked good. I just don''t know if they would be practical for daily wear.
So, I have been searching all night (which by the way is good for my diet, because I become so engrossed in the research that I don''t even eat!!)
So, I guess what I''d like to see are some posts or links to jackets that are square or alternatively, settings that will create that illusion without the center stone sitting so high above the halo.
Any suggestions, pictures????
