Need to find an independent appraiser

Where can I go to find one? I looked at the PS website, but only found 14 in NY area. I am pretty sure they are a lot more. Thanks!

Hi all. I just looked again. There are only 3 in NYC. All others would require some traveling. There''s even one from IL. I don''t even know why it showed up, lol

Update again. one of them says on the opinion field "Verification of Diamond against certificate supplied by vendor. Buying price consultations available." I am looking for someone that can evaluate it without seeing the certificate because I think that would be more unbiased. Now that leaves me with 2.

I live in IN where there are NO independent appraisers listed. I googled for about 2 hours looking at all of the national associations of jewelery appraisers and things like that. The 3 you found in NYC seems about right and those really are probably all the independent appraisers there are. There aren''t many of them who are actually certified independent appraisers. I thought the same thing you did at first, but then I started looking and realized that was it. If you want a truly independent appraisal, go with one on the PS appraisers tool. Good luck!
